we trust you to have common sense, but please read these regardless.
though we expect you to follow the rules, none of them are set in stone. if you have a problem with anything on here, contact an admin, and we will do our best to help you.

in general / ooc
1. include everyone.
be it on a public roleplaying thread or an out of character chatting one, make an effort to include people when they post.
2. activity
there's no minimum of posts per week that have to be made. just make sure you try to be active. and, when you can't say hi for a certain amount of time, let us know in advance.
3. respect
treat everyone with the same kind of respect you'd like to receive. i'm sure this is so obvious it doesn't need to be mentioned, but don't bring drama into our forum.
if you have issues with someone, politely talk it out with them through personal messages. if all else fails, contact an admin.
4. multiple accounts
creating a new account for a new character is allowed, but ooc talk (read: not roleplaying) is limited to one account to avoid confusion.
in character
5. effort
please put effort into your roleplaying. you don't have to type a novel, but make sure the basics (correct spelling, grammar, et cetera) are all there. google chrome has a built-in spell check, it's a life saver!
everyone gets writer's block, and we understand that, but for the sake of the person you're roleplaying with, give them something to work with instead of a one-liner.
try to make your characterisation of canon characters as accurate as you can.
6. PG-13
proboards rules dictate that forums must be PG-13, please understand and respect that.
7. godmoding / powerplaying
absolutely no controlling someone else's characters, only control your own, as is the point of roleplaying.
do not lethally hurt or even kill someone else's character without their explicit consent. just don't do it.
character related
8. fanmade characters
with only six episodes to work with, we don't have a limitless supply of canon characters. fanmade characters are perfectly allowed as long as they have a well-rounded bio.
if fanmade characters are related to or in any other way close to one of the pre-existing characters, you must ask for their permission first.
the same goes for all your colonel james moriartys, harry watsons, mummy holmes and richard brooks.
9. character limit
at this stage we only allow one major character (e.g. sherlock holmes, d.i. greg lestrade) and one minor character (e.g. anthea, richard brook).
there is no limit to the fanmade characters you may create, so long as you don't go overboard.
10. face claims
if you have a fanmade character, you'll need a face to represent them. a list of the ones have already been taken is here. it's also where you post to claim yours to avoid confusion.
only human face claims!
chatbox
11. content
absolutely nothing above PG-13 on either of the chatboxes. they are both open to the public, and seeing as the out of character one is in the sidebar, we don't want any content in it that might get us into trouble.
cursing is fine, just use common sense.
